When the Awards Committee determines what Rule 1 or Rule 2 actions apply, it will announce the final disposition of the entities on the DXCC list. The DXCC desk will not accept confirmations for these new entities until after 1 January, 2011.
How these changes will affect CQRLOG and its country files? Follow the explanation made by Bernie, W3UR:
I suspect we will not know the ADIF Country codes for the new PJ DXCC Entities until after 10/10/10, as we still don't know for sure how many countries will come out of these changes (I still predict 4). Also everyone needs to be aware that 10/10/10 is a Sunday and the following day is Columbus Day (The US Federal Government will be closed both days). My recommendation to everyone is work every PJ station you hear starting at 0400Z on October 10th and afterwards. See you in the pileups!
There is NO OTHER WAY than to leave our country file set AS IS until the DXCC status of PJ entities will be published, then a new version of country files will be released to reflect all changes. Although we will try to minimize the time of 'incorrect DXCC stats', be prepared (and patient, please) to the fact that your stats will show your scores minus 2, 3 or 4 within particular time. We expect that the issue of ADIF numbers will take some time so we will use a provisional ADIF number to ensure proper log functionality. This should be not a problem because the ADIF number has only an internal meaning, however the country files should be NEVER USED AS A REFERENCE and its content should be NOT COPIED INTO OTHER PROGRAMS until the official ADIF numbers will be issued.
