remote database within home network

I feel I am missing something simple. I'd like to have my raspberry pi connect to the cqrlog database on the desktop so that both computers use the same database and the log is always synced. I uncheck local logs on the pi and enter the destop's name but fail to connect. Maybe there's something i'm missing on the desktop's end?

yes .config/crqlog has been copied over and I see the complete log on the pi when working locally so everything should be here.

Hi !

Read this thread https://cqrlog.com/node/2314
Specially 2 last messages #/ and #8

Firewall settings of both sides should be checked, too.

Multiple computers using the same database

I have a Raspberry Pi and a PC and wanted to share the same database, I followed the instructions above in this post:
https://cqrlog.com/node/2314
which I did a few years ago and worked perfectly!

Now it all works except the two seem to share the same preferences. For example: the backup ADIF file location, when I exit the program, on the RP wants to save to /home/pi/.config/cqrlog/database but that directory does not exist on my PC and the RP is running older versions of cqrlog and hamlib so the transceiver model codes are different than the version on the PC, so the program continues to default back to the hamlib dummy each time I change between computers. If I change the preferences in one computer it is changed in the other.

As I stated, I had done this before a few years ago and don't recall having this issue but I did now change to Linux Mint 21, running a newer 2.5 version of Cqrlog, where I had been using 2.4 version of Cqrlog on Ubuntu 20.04. The RP did not change.

Is there a way that I can I get different preferences for each computer?

Thanks.

HI Ken!

Look at preferences/Program. There is "Configuration storage settings" button.
Press it and check if you can find help from there.
