Hi!
Putting dbind error string to Google I found this:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/532585/getting-dbind-warnings-a...

Maybe it is worth of trying.

Secondly it looks strange that you have rig model #1 (dummy rig), and you have defined rig device anyway.
Is this error, or just set for test run?

I hope you have backup copy from ~/.config/cqrlog folder from time before Linux update. Replacing current one with backup folder lets you try again from start (after dbus error is fixed).
Otherwise, if you have full adif backup of log(s) and hopefully also log settings, other way to try is just delete ~/.config/cqrlog folder and start from zero.
When you get fresh empty log created import log settings, then open the log and import ADIF

But be sure you have backups before deleting ~/.config/cqrlog folder. It will remove all logs and settings.

I don't know how I did it, but cqrlog is now running.
I did follow the directions in the link you provided. It worked, but I don't think it had anything to do with the problem.
what I did:
I had a backup cgrlog folder.
I removed the cqrloq folder in my home directory and reinstalled cqrlog. It started with the clean install. I then replaced the new database folder with the old. It again started fine. It looks like all is well... but..

I exported my whole log from QRZ and exported the whole log from another cqrlog install and imported those into another logging program. Both times I showed discrepancy of 19 records. One instance showed the total number of QSOs 19 short. Another showed the correct number but I could not find some QSOs, so there is some going on somewhere. I don't think this is related to my original problem, either. I'll have to investigate.

Thank you for your help.

HI!

Fine!
I was suspecting that the error is not the real reason. But it had to be handled first to be sure.
Wasn't there an ADIF import error log in the other logging program? Maybe it could tell something.

Sometimes it has happened that importing ADIF to Cqrlog cuts in the middle and rest of ADIF qsos leave off.
Those cases there has been and illegal character in some of the tags of qso record. Either a control character or UTF-8 language specific character. If there are many qsos in log it may be hard to find the break point.

GL for hunting!
