I have looked all over and can't seem to find this answer. Is there a way to automatically populate the Operator field with the station callsign that is setup on the Station preferences tab?

See: NewQSO/Help/Keys and shortcuts ----> ALT+O
There is no other way to set it. And if you select same as your station call it is cleared. I.E. log database operator field will be empty ("NULL").
If operator differs from station call then it is saved in qso record.

Added preferences/NewQSO/default values : Operator field (if different than station callsign).
May be useful in club stations etc. if same guest operator often works from station. Then he can create own log with operator already set.
