I just upgraded to the 1.4.0. I am running Fedora 16 64 on an AMD machine, using ttyUSB0. I was never able to get rig control to work, however, with the new version, it will display the frequency and band when it polls the radio, but won't hold the info, it goes back to 0.000. So it will flash the correct frequency and band every time it polls, but then returns to all zeros. Rig control works when using FLDIGI by itself, with GRIG, even HRD running under virtualbox and the other operating system. Anyone else having these issues?

Oh, I forgot, using rigid of 123, and have tried polling 1000, and 500. Same results
Thanks

I added the serial speed in the command line arguments, and tried it at both 9600 and 38400. Here is what is in that box: -m %m -r %r -t %t -s 38400
Here is what is in command line:
Settings:
-----------------------------------------------------
RigCtldPath:/usr/bin/rigctld
RigCtldArgs:-m %m -r %r -t %t -s 38400
RunRigCtld: TRUE
RigDevice: /dev/ttyUSB0
RigCtldPort:4532
RigCtldHost:localhost
RigPoll: 500
RigSendCWR: FALSE
RigId: 123
Starting RigCtld ...
/usr/bin/rigctld -m 123 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -t 4532 -s 38400
rigctld started!

The funny thing is, my radio was on 28.332 Mhz, so it is getting the frequency, and it pops up on the TX window, for just a second, then goes back to 0.0000. I have also tried it with poll=1000.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Petr,
I have found the same behaviour with my FT-817. The serial port parameters are OK because rigctld read the ferquency from my 817 but in console the message appears:
Could not get freq from radio:14029900
CW
500
RPRT -11

Hi - I have a similar problem with my Elecraft K2, using a native serial port /dev/ttyS0 and Ubuntu 10.04. The radio will initialize when I choose "Refresh TRX control" but the program never displays the frequency, or provides any control at all. I had to add -s 4800 to the command line to get it to work at all (from what I understand the max serial speed should be picked up through the rig ID, which it is not doing). I don't know which port number to use so that is left at 4532, nor what Host to set so it is left at localhost.
The same problem. I posted infos here
