I have two problems. The first is that in CQRLog, now that I enabled TRX Control, I can't seem to turn it off, even after changing all of the preferences for it back to default.
The second problem is that when I start FLDigi in remote mode from CQRLog, CQRLog is not letting fldigi take TRX control. When I start FLDigi on it's own, it works fine, but if CQRLog is open at all, CQRLog takes rig control.
Any ideas?
OS: Ubuntu 10.10
Rig: Yaesu FT-990
CQRLog Version: 1.4.1
Fldigi Version: 3.21.45
What I do is I set CQRlog on radio #2, (NOTE: there is no radio on #2) this will take rig control away from CQRlog or at least this wont be an issue, then I set CQRlog into Fldigi mode, launch Fldigi "Fldigi has rig control" then all my qso's go into CQRlog, works for me, try it. 73 Tom K8WDX

Is there a real reason to allow fldigi to control the radio instead of CQRLOG? I don't see any. Actually, with the radio control from fldigi you give up any advanced cluster options, band map etc. Honestly said, I am not experienced digi operator but any attempt to employ a port (USB, serial...) to control other radio functions than freq/mode/filter switching is a big waste of time. These essential functions are better to have in logger, not in the "peripheral module" which here actually fldigi is. Also, there is still no program with usable FSK facility and AFSK is a blame.
There is a way how to have trx control both fldigi and cqrlog. Set the TRX control in CQRLOG and in fldigi preferences use Hamlib NET rigctl (Beta) asi rig and Device set to localhost:4532
It will work both in CQRLOG and FLDIGI.

P.S. I'll create a picture and put it into FAQ

ok1rr, I use FLdigi's rig control to activate PTT on the rig, so it's kind of important for my setup. I'll give the other comments tonight.
k8wdx, I'll look for it, but I don't remembering where to select between the two radios in CQRLog, what menu is that in?

KC9KHT on the main logger page, click on the "window' tab the open TRX control, it will give you the option there.. Tom K8WDX

OK, I guess I'm just blind. Thanks

oc2cqr, I couldn't get fldigi to work with localhost, but I did with 127.0.0.1. Not sure why, but thanks for your help. I now have the best of both worlds.
