Greetings.
Looks like cqrlog is fitting most of my logging needs. I really enjoy the program. One thing that I think might be missing is a screen that allows you to call up "favorite" or "bookmarked" frequencies. I realize my radio itself has memories, but another application I used to use often had this feature and I never realized how much I used it until it was no there.
(for the record I was using HRD in Windows. I know it is a kitchen sink app, but I think having the option could be useful).
In any event, for the pruporses of logging, the app is doing a great job.

Hi Bill,
you can use band buttons in TRX control window. Go to Preferences -> TRX control and in the lower right coner click to Change default frequencies button. There you can set the freq which will be send to TRX after you click to the button.
When I want to QSY, I use New QSO window - enter freq in kHz directly into callsign field and hit enter. Radio will change the freq and mode. It is faster than click the button.

Rather than a separate screen that allows us to call up "favorite" or "bookmarked" frequencies, here's what I suggest.
Please make a provision to edit the default frequencies displayed in the "Frequency:" drop-down list to the right of the "Name:" box. I have to constantly type in the frequency for every 60 meter contact I make.
If we can't have that feature, then please add the USA 60 meter frequencies to that list as follows:
SSB:
5.3305
5.3465
5.357
5.3715
5.4035
CW:
5.332
5.348
5.3585
5.373
5.405
I have spent many, many hours trying to figure out how to do this, and have given up in frustration. If there's a already a way to do this, please let us know how.
Thank you! :-)

I just got some input on a qrz.com forum from another CQRlog user (N0NB), and I think maybe my installation is corrupted. Maybe all I need is advice on how to fix it.
Checking 5 MHz (or any other band) in CQRlog's Preferences|Bands dialog does nothing. All the bands there EXCEPT 5 MHz display in the drop-down "Frequency:" list regardless of what is checked or unchecked.
What could be wrong, and how do we solve this? I've looked through the config files and see nothing about bands or frequencies. Maybe the main config file is corrupted? I have uninstalled and reinstalled CQRlog but nothing changed.
Enabling rig control is probably good advice. The last time I thought about it was when I had my IC-751A. Maybe it's easier to to with the rig I use now, an IC-765. But I'd like to figure out what is wrong before I try that!

Hello Mike,
I just tried to check 5MHz in Preferences -> Bands and you are right, it doesn't work. I'll fix it, I'm sorry.
The drop down box in new QSO window has it's values hardcoded into program code. I'll change it and it will be part of program preferences.

I just fixed the bug, it will be part of new version. Temporary solution is set the band 5 MHZ to enable, click to OK in preferences, close program and run it again. 6M band will be in statistics.

Ok, I just upgraded to the latest version, but 60 meters still does not show up in the drop-down list. Maybe this will help you figure out what is wrong:

The program seems to work just fine, other than this issue.

Hi Mike,
I didnt added the band into drop down list but you can do that in Preferences -> New QSO.

That didn't do what was needed.
So you are not going to add 60m to the drop-down list, like every other ham band is?

Mike,
I'm sorry I probably didn't understand what your originaly idea was. I can add frequencies you posted here but I suppose other users will want other frequencies. So I did a few changes and freq in this drop down list is editable. It is in Preferences -> New QSO click to Change default values button bellow Freq drop down list.

Hi Petr,
Thanks. Yes, I agree that you shouldn't add all those frequencies that I originally asked for. :-) If it just displayed something like 5.000 MHz, that would be fine.
The way it is now, it only shows 5 MHz when I open CQRLog. But if we change bands, then that default frequency dissapears. There really needs to be a number in the drop-down list between 3.7 and 7.0, don't you think?
I have always thought my installation was corrupted somehow, as every band between .136 and 78000 (except 5 MHz) appears in that drop-down freq. list, regardless of what is checked or not checked in Preferences | Bands.
Thanks again.

Maybe this screen capture of CQRLog 1.5.0 will explain better what I am trying to say:

Notice there is no 60 meters between 80 and 40 meters, even with the latest version.

You are welcome, Mike. What is on the screenshots I was trying to explain with my crooked English. I'm sorry.

No need to apologize for your English. :-) I think you do fine. I only speak one language, and I admire anyone who speaks more than one.
Sorry that we could not make a larger donation than we did; we will when we have more money here. You have done a great job on CQRLog.
