RIG CONTROL STOPPED WORKING WITH UPGRADE FROM 1.4.1 TO 1.5.2

MY SOFTWARE UPDATER WANTED TO UPDATE AND INCLUDED WAS AN UPDATE TO CQRLOG 1.5.2. AFTER THE UPGRADE THE RIG CONTROL STOPPED WORKING.  THE RIG CONTROL SCREEN IN PREFERENCES NOW INCLUDES PARAMETERS FOR:
SERIAL SPEED = 57600
DATA BITS = 8
STOP BITS = 1
PARITY = NONE
HANDSHAKE = XON/XOFF (IF HANDSHAKE = FLOW CONTROL)
RTS = ON
DTR = DEFAULT
ALL THESE AGREE WITH THE XMLOG SETTINGS EXCEPT DTR WHICH WAS NOT USED IN XMLOG.  I TRIED ALL VALUES OF DTR, REFRESHING TRX CONTROL EACH TIME.  THE LOG DOES NOT READ THE RADIO BAND/FREQ AND THE LOG DOES NOT CONTROL THE RADIO BAND/FREQ.  IT WORKED FINE UNTIL THE UPGRADE.
I HAVE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE XMLOG AND CQRLOG SETTINGS I CAN SHARE VIA EMAIL IF ANYONE NEEDS IT.
ANY HELP ANYONE?  PLEASE.

HI TOM

HI TOM
FUNNY I WAS JUST WRITING YOU AN EMAIL WHEN I SAW YOUR REPLY.  THANKS.  I AM USING UBUNTU 12.10.  TODAY THE SNYAPTIC UPDATE MANAGER UPGRADED CQRLOG FROM 1.4.1 TO 1.5.2.  LAST MONTH I TRIED IN VAIN TO GET 1.5.2 TO WORK WITH MY RIG.  SOMEHOW, I LATER GOT 1.4.1 TO WORK FINE.  PLEASE READ MY EARLIER POST FOR DETAILS.   ANY IDEAS WHY 1.5.2 WILL NOT WORK WITH MY OMNI 7?

Do not use uppercase, please!

It is quite uneasy to read, it can be also considered as a rant.
Many thanks for your next contributions in usual way...

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP WITH

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP WITH THE PROBLEM.  UPPERCASE HELPS ME READ WHAT I AM SENDING.  IT IS NOT A RANT.  MY EYES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH LOWERCASE.  DOES THAT MATTER AT ALL?

I will be pleased to help you

with everything and with by best knowledge. There is no rule of upper/lowercase :-) Try first hamlib and rigctld from the terminal window):

rigctld --model=1611 --rig-file=/dev/ttyS0 --serial-speed=57600 --set-conf=dtr_state=OFF, rts_state=OFF

(assumed that your radio is connected to the serial 1 port, otherwise you need to modify the --rig-file=/dev/ttyS0 command). Sometimes the port number can change (udev causes this?), try other values, ie. if your radio is on a serial port, try --rig-file=/dev/ttyS0, --rig-file=/dev/ttyS1, --rig-file=/dev/ttyS2, --rig-file=/dev/ttyS3). Tell us what is the response.

I guess this case is solved

For as far as I can see, Benny posted his problem twice in the forums (crosspost) and Petr helped to get it to work.
If these are indeed seperate cases, I am sorry. But to me it seems as one problem posted twice.
If I am right, glad it is solved.
