HI, You should find CQRLOG ready to instal in administration/synaptic packet manager. After installing, download the latest version from this website then right click the file in the downloads folder and follow the instructions.

go to downloads on the left side of this page, download the proper file, then go to your download file in your home folder, them right click on the file and open with Gdebi package installer, and follow the promps. when it tells you there is an older version, just close that and go with the one you downloaded, it is that simple, all Deb files install the same way, once you get that going and you want rig control there are a couple of other things you will need to do, just post when you get to that point, or send me an e-mail at k8wdx@yahoo.com HTH Tom K8WDX
BTW once you get that done open terminal and put this in
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ok2cqr/ppa
once you do that you will get automatic updates via the package manager.
If you install Fldigi, and tqsl for LOTW in terminal copy and past this, one line at a time hit enter after every line.
sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-hams-ppa-*
then
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-hams-updates/ppa
then
sudo apt-get update
this will keep all those programs up to date as well, with system updated no need to do anything else, when ever there is an update available, Linux will let ya know and ask if you want to install the latest version, they will be included in system updates.

you want this one for 32 bit in the download section to the left on this page...

This one are also OK.
Oh, before you do any of this, go to synaptic package manager search for CQRlog and uninstall what you have done so far....

I sent you an email, hopefully you will get rig control working, you will like CQRlog much better that HRD, I made the switch about 3 years ago. Performance in digital modes is outstanding with Linux and Fldigi, so fast I love it..and CQRlog, is much better that HRD, but this is just my opinion. See ya Tom K8WDX
