Polish national charset in field

After upgrade CQRLOG from version 0.7.0 to 0.8.x, I can't write any field with polish charset (for example: Name, QTH, Comment for QSO). Older data is display correct charset. If I edit older data with polish charset and save – this record lost polish charset. The polish charset use UTF-8. I think it's a bug... I have to stay in version 0.7.0 this nice program...

Re: Polish national charset in field

Hi Greg,

this is a feature from version 0.8.0 and newer. I've had a lot of problems with national characters in ADIF import so I've decided to remove all non basic ASCII characters from imported and entered data. I thing much better is saving names, qth without our national chracters. You never know when this characters cause a problem. For hamradio usage is this better, I thing.

National characters - solution idea

Hi,

I've also found it quite nonconfortable to enter Polish letters to the log and while browsing the log to see that some letters are gone. Maybe one of the following solutions would be good for cqrlog?

1. automatically change national characters to the regular ASCII characters resembling the originals; for example ó->o, ł->l, ń->n etc.

2. keep national characters in native logs of cqrlog and convert them to latin characters while exporting to other formats.

Hi,

yes, this could be a solution but there are a lost of these national characters. We have 12 special characters, you have yours, Hungary, German, Slovak etc. have their own. It would be very uncomfortable.
