CQR installation with DEBIAN

Hi there,

I've recently installed DEBIAN (WHEEZY 32 bits) and I wanted to install CQRLOG.
The package is listed in the DEBIAN packages under "Ham Radio", but I did not succeed.

I've added CQR repository with APT, but when I wish to install it, the necessary files are not found.
I've also tried to download the package locally and strart from there, but no success.

As I'm new with LINUX and DEBIAN (I've used UBUNTU in the past, but not very much) may be I ask a simple/silly question, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks to all

Ciao Gerard

If you want to have the latest release of cqrlog it is present in the official Debian repositories of testing, not of wheezy (stable), because here you can find an old release now.
However, the latest current version of package cqrlog is on the author's site: "http://www.cqrlog.com/files/cqrlog_1.7.3/cqrlog_1.7.3-1_i386.deb."
try to install it from the terminal with gdebi, for example:
sudo gdebi cqrlog_1.7.3-1_i386.deb
gdebi should resolve all the dependencies.
There are other ways to install cqrlog from the repositories of testing on wheezy, but if you want to live happy and not have any surprises for dependencies not resolved, is strongly recommended that you use a Debian testing, not a stable, so that you can easily install and update the current version of cqrlog from the official repositories of debian testing.

Hi Giuseppe,

Hi Giuseppe,

I tried your method, and I've downloaded the version in Debian "testing". Nevertheless, I always get this error:
Error in dependancy: LibhamLib2 (>=1.2.10)

How mau I solve this?

Hi Gerard

After installing the testing you've upgraded?
It seems you have installed an older version of testing, not the current version.
If you do not resolve after the upgrade sends the following output from the terminal:

cat /etc/debian_version

apt-cache policy libhamlib2

and

cat /etc/apt/sources.list
