I just installed CQRLog on Debien Jessie, and I have several questions:
First the Main window and Log window are always greyed, but when I open "preference" window, this one is normally white.
Second, I use a Prolific USB/Serial emulator to connect my TS870 to the PC. I've used the 210 rig ID and the dev/ttyUSB0 driver, but there is no connection with the TS870...

what version of CQRLOG are you using? When you run CQRLOG from console with --debug=1 parameter, what do you get?

Bonjour Gerard, To start with the second. /dev/ttyUSB0 sounds correct. to check if this is correct, in a console type: ls /dev/ttyUSB* This will list all your ttyUSB devices please check 3 things: 1. Make sure you are a member of the dialout group. (let us know if you don't know how) 2. in trx settings please check the box next to "run rigctld when program starts" 3. only set the serial speed, and leave the rest on default (make sure the 870 is not on 4800bps, but something higher. at 4800 you use 2 stop bits instead of 1) The 1st part.... i don't really know what you mean. maybe you can make a screenshot and upload it so we can see what you mean. 73, Alex PA1SBM

@ Petr: I installe CQRLog directly with an apt-get from you repositery, so I suppose I have the newxest version.
The console command "cqrlog -debug=-1" is not working:
CQRG starts but after all is blocked and I must use "reset" on the PC to reboot.
I'm new so I do not know how to recover without reset, but ctl/c or alt/ctl/supp are not working.

The command line parameter is --debug=1 and it shouldn't freeze your computer at all. It will write to the console information what is happening.

Last problem is this grey window.
When I start CQR all fields are white, but as soon as I made some action all becomes grey, but the soft is still working OK.
I cannot send a picture, I do not know how to capture a window on Linux. Apparently "screen copy" button is not working.

Hello,
now that everything seems to work, I would like to solve this "grey" propblem.
Here is what happens:
when I start the program, everything is OK, and then if I go to Preference, or any other window, the current window loses focus and becomes grey.
After that all windows stay greyed, although everything seems to function correctly.

Hi Gerard,
i was googeling your problem as it has nothing to do with cqrlog, but rather with your desktopmanager, KDE.
I found this:
[Alt][F2] kcontrol > Desktop | Taskbar > Inactive Task Text Color (?)
(Alternatively, you can right-click on the panel > Configure Panels > Taskbar)
Play around with this please, if you still have a problem i will build a virtualbox to see what is going on
