Ubuntu 16.04 cqrlog 2.0.0 update fails

I just moved from ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 today. While cqrlog-2.0.0 runs fine, I get the following error when trying to update:

# apt-get install --upgrade cqrlog

Has anyone see and hopefully solved this?

Fails to update

I did the update to 2.0.0-1 before Ubuntu released 16-04lts. CQRlog works fine but I cannot update it to the "xenial" version. Dpkg reports an error in the cleanup process and halts. I cannot remove CQRlog to try a fresh install because "update manager" states the program is in "bad condition" and the remove exits. For a program that is in "bad condition", it works really good! I like all the updates.

Thanks for the info, Clayton.

Thanks for the info, Clayton. Good to know I'm not alone! I can't remove cqrlog (to do a reinstall) and now also cannot update my system because it chokes at that point and quits. Looks like I might be learning a lot more about ubuntu package management shortly, which isn't a bad thing but nothing I'm especially excited about either. :-)

Hey Mike,

Hey Mike,
Try Synaptic to remove CQRLog then reinstall. 73 Timo OH7JHA

Thanks, everyone, for the

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas. I've waited to post in the hope of finding a solution, but think my problem is deeper than a cqrlog issue. After removing cqrlog I then receive an error that desktop-file-utils can't be configured. Since I backup my home directory using rsync to another machine I think I will simply do a reinstall of ubuntu and start fresh. It will be faster, though I'm sure I'll learn less about ubuntu by not solving the problem directly. Sometimes laziness wins... :-)

Many thanks again. 73!

[SOLVED] Ubuntu 16.04 cqrlog 2.0.0 update fails

All is well again on my ubuntu box (16.04 x86_64). With the workweek over I did an ubuntu reinstall on top of my prior 16.04 and that corrected whatever issues caused the problem. I believe the problems stemmed from a failed gnuradio install which installed its own glib related files. Now I'm simply living with a slightly older gnuradio from apt-get but no other headaches. Sorry for thinking the problem was cqrlog when in fact it simply was the first to suffer from the other problems. It's nice to have a happy system again.
