I have had CQRlog running under Fedora 11 32 bit OS. I did a clean install of Fedora 12 64 bit. I have downloaded the CQRlog install file, but cannot get it to install, either using a GUI, or through a console. I have seen the message posted about installing on Fedora 11 64 bit. I am fairly new to Fedora and Linux. I have a big, thick book that I am reading to try to get a more thorough understanding of this OS. I do not know how to install the 32 bit versions of the files mentioned. If I try installing the files, I always get 64 bit versions. I have probably made a mess of things, trying to get it to work. Can someone explain to me in simple step-by-step instructions how to get CQRlog to work on a 64 bit system? My email address is n9rg@arrl.net if that will be easier. I would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks and 73.

Installing CQRlog under Fedora 12 64 bit
Roy
I will help you. One program that is needed to be installed that I left out is "FlDigi" and its dependencies.
And follow instructions here. http://www.cqrlog.com/?q=node/89
Use the file cqrlog_0.9.0_bin.tar.gz and just extract it to your home directory.
Use the terminal to start it to see what errors you get.
If you still get stuck I will install Fedora 12 64bit Saturday and help you out. I was planning on it anyway.

Thanks for your offer of help, Rick. I was out of town, delivering Christmas presents yesterday (Saturday). I just read your message this morning. While I have been playing with Linux for a number of years, it has been very much and off and on relationship. Early on, pretty much everything was done from the command line. In the later flavors, I must admit, I have gotten lazy and depended on GUI's. When I try to install the suggested files, I always seem to get 64 bit files instead of 32 bit. I have not tried using the cqrlog_0.9.0_bin.tar.gz file, but have been trying to use the install file. I will play with it some more this morning. Thanks again for your offer of assistance. 73.

I guess I am just out of my league here. I extracted the cqrlog_0.9.0_bin.tar.gz file to my home directory. I get a directory called cqrlog_0.9.0_bin. When I look in that directory, I see a file called cqrlog, but I can't seem to run it. If I look at the INSTALL text file, it tells me to just run cqrlog.sh, but I don't have such a file. I am lost.

Did you "cd" to the the cqrlog directory in the terminal? Like cd /home/username/cqrlog_0.9.0_bin ?
Yes. I was in the correct directory. I was able to do a 'ls -l' command and see a file (I think) called cqrlog. It was listed in green, if I remember correctly. I started out in DOS, many, many years ago, so I am familiar with the command line. I am just not familiar with all of the Linux commands and syntax. I really like the CQRlog program, but I'm not sure I'm willing to switch versions of Fedora, and all the work that goes along with that, to get it working. I do have several other things working the way I want them, for now. If it looks like that is necessary, I may just wait for CQRlog to catch up with this distribution. 73.

Fedora 12 is a lot different than Fedora 11. bug-buddy is replaced by abrt. I would suggest using the 32 bit version or Fedora 11 64 bit.
I will try to get cqrlog working.
