I would like to make a new log that covers just this month, June. So this is what I did.
- Created a filter for June
- Exported the data to an ADIF file. (June records only)
- In New QSO Window -> Open/Create Log (Normally I would expect this in the QSO List, not in New QSO window)
- Create Log 2018-06
- Open the new log
- QSO List Window->Import -> ADIF (Imported june entries)
- Notice my QTH profile is not listed. Import anyway
- Log entries are there
- I suspect something is wrong, choose Preferences
- I notice preferences have been reset.
- Go back to Open/Create Log
- Open my original log (Log 001)
- Open/Create Log
- Utils ->Configuration->Export (Save my config as confignormal.ini)
- Open my new Log (2018-06)
- Open/Create log
- Utils->Configuration -> Import->configurationnormal.ini
- Cancel Button
- Preferences are still default!
Or if I do the last step and hit the open button, the configuration is still default.
Question is How do I import a configuration from one log to another?

I had to test it too. (Tested with 2.3.0-101 that is the same as 2.3.0-001 at these parts of program.)
Exported some logs and found out that exported file XXX.ini (, that can be read with text editor) has more or less random content. How ever things are there even when the order of them is not always same.
I did it so that first I removed "open recent log at program start" to let the log selection to stay on screen.
Closed cqrlog and started it again. This should not be needed, but I wanted to make sure I do it with same procedure from clean start.
So when Database connection window opened at start I selected that log (blue background) from where I wanted to export information.
Then utils/configuration/export /give a save name /Save
After that I created a new log / named it / and after OK it is selected (blue background)
Then utils/configuration/import / select just saved file name / Open
After that I opened the new log (first time) and all my informations were there.

OK I did it the same method as you did, and It did import and my settings were transferred. One error though, is that after creating the new empty log and checking that the settings seemed to be there, I imported the June QSOs from my adi file, and when that dialog came up where it asks about the remark and >10,000 QSOs, I could not select a QTH profile. The drop down menu was empty. I imported them anyway.
I checked after importing with no QTH Profile selected, and in preferences, my QTH Profile was in the list, but not selected. Is this a bug?
I noticed that you did things in a different order than what I did earlier today, so I did an experiment. I closed CQRLOG and started again to start fresh. It asked what log to open, I opened my full original log. Viewed the QSO list, and preferences, all is good. Next create a new empty log. Then open the new log (DO NOT IMPORT THE PREFERENCES YET). Go to QSO List. It is empty as expected. Import the .adi file and get all my June QSOs in there. They are fine. Now go back to New QSO Window and to Open/Create Log. My new log is still selected in blue. Import the preferences. Dialog says imported successfully. Open the Log. Switch to QSO List. My alternating colors are NOT there. Go to Preferences, they are all the defaults. not what I imported. Bug.

I just do not have QTH profiles, so I can not play with them and do not know how they affect.
I noticed that if I open a log and then go back to "open or create new log" to do things results were not always same.
That's why I removed "open recent log at program start"-selection to get just to Database connection dialog when starting cqrlog. (not going to NewQSO and then back from there)
From that dialog:
1. export configuration from selected log
2. create new log
3. import configuration from exported file to new log
4. open new log
then from cqrlog:
5. import adif from file
But as said there is no qth profiles to test with.

You get the bug if you do your items in this order, 1,2,4,5,3.
