xbuntu 19.10 will not load CQRLog

Since upgrading to version 19.04 I can not open CQRLog. I receive this message:

Error during connection to database: TMySQL56 connection: Server connect failed.

This is from the mysql.err file:

Any suggestions to correct this error would be appreciated. Please be specific in any steps I need to take to make the correction, I am getting comfortable with the Linux file system and files but am not an expert.

Same problem

I'm having the same problem. Apparently CQRLOG is looking for version 5.6 of MySQL and Ubuntu 19.10 has version 10. What do I do?

19.10

Received this message:
"The same here with Kubuntu 19.10. Plesase try uninstal mysql-server and instal mariadb-server version 10.3! On my side worked perfectly

And it works. When I uninstalled mysql-server CQRLog also disappeared but reinstalling it and the Mariadb-client solved the problem. I used the command line to install CQRLog so be sure to watch the last lines in the terminal indicating that mysql or Mariadb are not present and then go from there.
I didn't have any QSOs saved in the CQRLog database but if you do I'd suggest you either move them or save them elsewhere.

Hope this helps.

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mariadb-server

Say YES to everything, wait until it's fnished, then start CQRLog and it works fine.

Nothing else needed, this worked for me at the first try :-)
