Export to Cabrillo

Gagarin Cup contest 2021-04-10-11.
Is export possible to Cabrillo?
Unfortunately, the Contest Filter is saved only for ADIF and HTML.

Export to CABRILLO

HI Vladimir!

Cabrillo export always need filter. Even if you create a new log used for only that one contest. That kind of case you can use contest filter if you have given name for contest in contest window. You can type any name, in case the contest name selection list does not have it. If you use one log for all qsos I recommend to add year, or more precise date, to name to find all contest specific qsos if log can have same contests from several years.
Contest window's contest name is just a name to find qsos afterwards. It does not affect anything else.

If you did not give any name, and log used was made only for this one contest, you still have to use filter. Then it is easier to filter by dates. In filter setup set contest starting day and ending day. Then click OK to activate filter and see that all qsos are selected.
After that you can do Cabrillo export.

Export to Cabrillo

Hi Saku,

thanks for your reply!

I have been using CQRLOG since 2015 for NAC, EWAC, LYAC Contests.
Expot to ADIF and converter - ADIF -> EDI converter https://github.com/drom/conlog
Always successful.
Thanks to the Authors of CQRLOG!

1.Unfortunately, from April 10 to April 16, I was not able to export to Cabrillo for the Gagarin Cup Contest at QO-100.
2. I have followed all recommendations Filtering HELP file:///usr/share/cqrlog/help/h23.html#ah22
3. The filter is created, saved and loaded.
4.In Filtering HELP has a total of TWO Export outputs: "Choose 'ADIF' or 'HTML'. The usual File Save dialog appears (depending on the desktop used). Choose a location and file name."
5. ADIF and HTML export works great.
6.In Filtering HELP, there is NO indication of Export to Cabrillo.
7. When I try to Export to CABRILLO, the filter removes all my QSOs. The number of QSO = 0.
8.Yesterday, at my request, AI6YP created a converter for me https://observablehq.com/@drom/adif2cabrillo , which helped me out.
9.Of course, I have a desire to learn how to export to Cabrillo directly from CQRLOG.

Thanks you Saku

Export to Cabrillo

HI Vladimir !

When contest is named at working phase you can do filtering with "QSO list/Filter/Contest filter" It will show all contest names in current log on selector list. Just select right name and press OK. That is easiest way. Then you can move to ADIF, Cabrillo or EDI export (Note that there is also EDI export in cqrlog).
About the EDI export:. I can not help about it as I have never used it and not programmed it. But I am sure it also works and has been carefully tested by it's programmer.

Other way is to select "QSO list/Filter/Create" (or press F12). If you do one time filtering there is no need to save and load it. Just set filtering basics and press OK. After that you can do export.

I have tried to keep manual up to date with new features but there might be parts that do not always have latest, or precise information.
Feedback and corrections are always welcome.
To be sure everything works as expected be sure to use latest version of cqrlog. Even better if it is compiled from GitHub source as package managers do not update their repositories often enough.

By the way, have you seen these cqrlog contest videos?

Export Cabrillo Problem

Saku,
Thank you for all your contributions and videos, very helpful. I love this logging program. I'm trying to use Cabrillo export. I've applied a filter, I hit export, then I get a message: an error occurred during export: Access denied. After I acknowledge by pressing OK my export window states 48 entries were exported, and I get valid statistics in the statistics box. But there is no exported file and I also don't know where the file should be. I have done a file search of my file system using the same "Filename to export:" name that i've used for the export and no file is found. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Export Cabrillo Problem

HI Alan!
It looks like you are trying to export your cabrillo file to folder that does not allow you to write to. I tested to export to folder that I do not have write permissions and then I get also the same "access denied" message and after pressing OK it shows summary OK.

Once you have created filter and selected File/Export/Cabrillo set the file name and folder with "Browse" button or type the folder and filename directly to filename column.
It looks like the "Browse" opens folder /usr/bin by default and normal user can not write to that folder.

Navigate to your username folder, or to folder /tmp.

That is a good one because everyone can write to that folder and it is normally cleaned in every PC reboot. That may be good or bad, depends if you like to keep the cabrillo file longer or need it just a while for sending it to contest manager.

Here I have selected /tmp folder and filename is sac2021cw.cbr

I will make a fix for this so that "Browse" opens to user folder. Thanks for pointing this problem out !

Export Cabrillo Problem

Thank you Saku,
I see. Your program is perfect and yes the solution was just understanding why that "browse" button existed. My brain only looked at filename not file location. I got it and it exported perfectly. California QSO party cabrillo file uploaded. I will never be the same, I love contesting I've just always had problems getting submissions into Cabrillo. CQRLog is the best.
