i have 12.04 Precise, and also CQRLOG ver 1.7.4.
I tried to use sudo add-apt-repository to get latest version and it fails.
About 5 or 6 error lines all relating to ppy file issues under: /usr/lib/python2.7
Some files mentioned included: ppa.py, tempfile.py, random.py.
I checked under Synaptic Package Manager and I have python2.7, but certainly not all the files that were listed there. I assume the ones I have are for basic python management.
Perhaps this is incomplete or outdated for the new version of CQRLOG?
Any guidance appreciated.

ppa repository request fails to install on my ubuntu 12.04
Hi,
CQRLOG is supported in Ubuntu 14.04, if you have 12.04, you have to download deb packages by hand and install using dpkg or Ubuntu software center. PPA won't help you. DEB packages are here http://www.cqrlog.com/download

Thank you very much Petr for your reply. I downloaded the debian 386 file from your link, but no matter which method I use, a new error reads:
Error: Dependency is not satisiable:
libpango-1.0-0 (>= 1.14.0)
I've tried my Ubuntu Software center, and aptitude and see same error. Haven't tried dpkg.
I do have libpango installed, and I even reinstalled it, but no change.
Willing to try any other ideas.
I'm still new to Linux, but have been studying hard at command line level, rather than rely on GUIs only.

Hi Bill,
the solution is here http://www.cqrlog.com/node/1363#comments and should work also for recent version of CQRLOG.
