Linux Mint 7.3 Install Trouble

I have been trying to get CQRLOG 2.0 installed for a week now and have decided to ask for help. I normally try all I know which is not much before giving up. I am a linux newby and know little in using the command line but I try. The following is the error I am receiving! Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Linux Mint 7.3 Install Trouble

I had the same problem after a new install failed. I tried the methods in some of the other posts, but could not get CQRLOG to connect to the db. I finally resolved it this way:

1. Uninstalled CQRLOG

2. Followed the steps in this post: https://www.cqrlog.com/comment/4819#comment-4819

3. Removed ~/.config/cqrlog (this kills all of the config data for CQRLOG.
If you need this info you may want to try backing this up and restoring it after a clean install.

4. Uninstalled MariaDB (In hindsight, this is probably not necessary, especially if you are using it for other application purposes)

5. Reinstalled CQRLOG using the Software manager. It will also install MariaDB if you removed it in the previous step.

6. After the install, I ran CQRLOG, it treated the install as a "first time install" and prompted me to create the database.

7. I was migrating from an earlier version, so I restored my data from previous ADIF backup files using the "Import" function.

This method did NOT preserve any "preferences" data from the previous version, I had to reconfigure it. Hope this helps.
