Import ADIF from Logger32

I am trying to import my log from Logger32 on on XP. I ran into a few issues and need some guidance.

Issue #1: It appears the 29 of my q's will not import with the following error:

----------------
(BAND:4)33CM (CALL:4)W0ZQ (CONT:2)NA (CONTEST_ID:18)2008 ARRL June VHF (CQZ:1)4 (DXCC:3)291 (ITUZ:1)7 (MODE:2)CW (OPERATOR:4)NG0R (QSO_DATE:8:D)20080614 (RST_RCVD:4)EN34 (RST_SENT:4)EN25 (TIME_ON:6)193900 (TIME_OFF:6)193900 (APP_LOGGER32_QSO_NUMBER:3)853 (COUNTRY:3)USA (APP_LOGGER32_LAT:9)43.000000 (APP_LOGGER32_LNG:9)97.000000 (EOR)
ERROR: Wrong QSO freq:

**I had to replace < and > with ( and ) in the html web post. :-)
----------------

Issue #2: It appears that during the import cqrlog is setting the default power level if there is not one logged in the ADIF import.

Issue #3: It appears that during the import cqrlog is setting the default My_Location if there is not one logged in the ADIF import.

Issue #4: The import does not appear to be mapping CONTEST_ID from the ADIF into the new log.

I have a pretty small and simple log. But I am concerned about data consistency during the import process I changed my preferences so that none of these fields should be pre-filled or assumed a certain value and reran the import with the same results.

I have the ADIF, screen capture, and log saved and can send them to you if are interested. I am about ready to commit to using CQRLOG and Ubuntu as my main configuration in the shack so this is the big moment when I convert the log. :-)

Re: Import ADIF from Logger32

Hi John,

this error "ERROR: Wrong QSO freq:" is because CQRLOG doesn't have 33CM band.

If your ADIF file doesn't have Power and your own location defined, CQRLOG uses values from preferences or from QTH profile (if you are using it). You can change these values with Group edit function.

CQRLOG also doesn't have CONTEST ID field, so I can modify program to import this field to Note for QSO.

Re: Import ADIF from Logger32

Hi Petr,

I suspected the info from the preferences so I removed them from my preferences and then reimported it with the same result. Is it possible that since the log is already open (but empty) that I needed to restart the program (or reopen the log window) to pick up the preference changes? I don't want to do a group edit because in some cases there real data in the power field (like when I operate QRP) and I could be putting in erroneous data into the log.

Are there other fields in the ADIF import that might be skipped? That was one that I was aware of because I used it when I imported logs from Writelog into Logger32 so that I would be aware of what contest and why the exchange for the Q might be different than a standard Q. :-) (Can I do a search/replace on that field and change it to something like NOTES to do the import?)

So how do I bring over my 33cm contacts? I still need to be able to track that band as I am a somewhat rare grid on the high UHF/microwave bands and get cards that need to be tracked.

So far things are going pretty good with the move to CQRlog and Ubuntu. I replaced the old PC with the new Linux box. Once I get thru these import issues it looks like it will be permanent addition to the shack. (I still need to figure out how to handle contest logging... not that I do much any more.) CQRlog is great program, I am really impressed with it.

Hi Petr,

Is there a suggested way to deal with the 33cm contacts?

Re: Re: Import ADIF from Logger32

Hi John,

if you rename CONTEST ID to NOTE, this field will be imported to Comment for QSO field in CQRLOG.

To import 33CM contacts, I must add this band to CQRLOG, first. Could you post here something about this band? Like frequency range, modes etc.Thank you.

Re: Import ADIF from Logger32

Hi Petr,

In the US the band plan looks like:

902.0-903.0 Narrow-bandwidth, weak-signal communications
902.0-902.8 SSTV, FAX, ACSSB, experimental
902.1 Weak-signal calling frequency
902.8-903.0 Reserved for EME, CW expansion
903.1 Alternate calling frequency
903.0-906.0 Digital communications
906-909 FM repeater inputs
909-915 ATV
915-918 Digital communications
918-921 FM repeater outputs
921-927 ATV
927-928 FM simplex and links

Most activity is typically 902.100 and 903.100 for SSB/CW weak signal. There is some FM and ATV as well.

Thanks, JH
