Would it be possible to use some kind of plugin to filter out the spam that is crushing this forum? I don't know if something like Akismet is a possibility, but this place is getting hammered with trash now.
Perhaps enforcing callsigns as usernames before allowing posting? I usually just skip any postings that are not from a user with a callsign, but I still have to click through them to clear the "new post" flag.
Tried to create a new username today. It did not succeed. Perhaps something went wrong, It's been over 10 years since I created my user account here.
Perhaps I should try again.
Why?
I did want to see is it possible to create non ham user account and write messages.
That would show up is the problem in administration (no check of new users).
Or has this forum version (that is quite old) some kind of vulnerability that is known by spammers and they use it as backdoor to create accounts.

Whatever the cause is, I really like cqrlog and I hate to say it, but it looks a bit like an abandoned project now. Pity...

I agree. I think CQRlog is the best log software (compare with my experience on many others in ham club) : lot of features, user-friendly,.... great job done by authors and now by saku with its forked version.
I think it is very difficult to maintain such software during a entire life (and for free !)
So, it is up to us (users) to help in this work. Why not to create a team (with authors approval and monitoring) that will manage bug correction, tests, new features (by keeping mind the same use philosophy) and website maintenance, news.

I completely agree with you. But I think that now the forum is completely unreadable, the problem here seems quite serious and users need the admins' reaction and information. No one word from admins or developers abt forum, now and future of cqrlog. It looks like only Saku (thank God) remains on the battlefield.

A forum I use a lot, OpenGD77 (https://www.opengd77.com/) uses phpBB (https://www.phpbb.com/) and it works great!
I'd be willing to pitch in to give back more time to Saku to fix bugs and add enhancements to CQRLOG!
