short question: is there/will there be a way to automatically send spots via telnet to the cluster? As I like to share my findings on the bands I always have to press ctrl+t to send the spots. Would be nice to have the opportunity by selecting a field in the preferences to have cqrlog doing this on its own.

Auto spotting is not very good idea, I think.
Pressing key combination Ctrl+W is not very hard to do.
Besides using keyboard for Ctrl+W after first entering the call is quite ergonamic.
If there would be more room in NewQSO there could be a column with auto creating spot and send button, but that really does not change the current situation except that the spot suggestion would then be visible all the time.
Best way is to work the station first, log the qso and then press the Ctrl+W if desired.
That is why Cqrlog will take last logged qso to spot if NewQSO is empty. Otherwise the call that is in NewQSO, if user wants to spot that before (or already) worked by himself.
