Hi Saku
Thanks for the advice.
I have been trying to upload this as a reply to your reply but its not appearing so I have just started a new thread.
1st
There seems to be an issue with the v command.
f and F both work as they should
f returns the QRG ok
F lets me set the QRG OK
fm returns the QRG followed by the mode that's OK
M lets me set the MODE OK (the passband doesn't seem to work,
V lets me change the VFO OK
V VFOB f lets me change the VFO to B then returns the new QRG OK.
Combining commands does not seem to be the problem.
but
v causes an error "Feature not available"
It should return VFOA or VFOB

I have all command windows closed
I start CQRLog
Check Radio 2
Rig Model G90
Localhost
Device /dev/ttyUSB0
Run rigctld when program starts is ticked.
19200 baud at 7N1
Others settings at default
Click OK
Window TRX Control - check G90 is selected
Freq is not doing anything
File Refresh TXR/Rot
Window TRX Control still nothing
With CQRLog running I open a command window
enter ps ax | grep rig
I get 2 pids
one about triggers (picks up rig in trigger)
other about color=auto rig
nothing about rigctl
Looks like cqrlog has not started rigctld.

Hi Dave !
I should not reply in hurry. Looked the previev but then forgot to save the reply.....grrrr.
OK. V does not affect. Icoms can not show vfo and it is ok for freq and mode.
Next try to start rigctld with proper parameters using console. Leave it running.
Start cqrlog and set preferences/TRXControl:
rig model #2 Net hamlib rigctld
host 127.0.0.1 (to be sure that localhost points to IPV4 address)
port 4532
Run rigctld at program start UNCHECKED
Close preferences.
Can you now see frequency and mode?
Of yes, please read this:
