I just upgraded from 9.6 to 1/0/1 using the Ubuntu Software Centre ( I just clicked the first option in the list - CQRLOG)
However, I cant seem to get my ADI file to load using - File > Show QSO List - Then - File > Import > ADIF.
- The open existing file comes up
- I select the ADI file and click OK
- The importing ADI file window comes up
- Filled in the remarks and selected a QTH profile
- Click import and instantly a red flag comes up saying complete with the word DONE in the bottom left corner
- No errors are reported and importing number remains at zero.
However the database is empty - no files are imported after refresh... what am I doing wrong?
I have tried about 6 times to get the log in but to it just won't import.
Thankfully 9.6 still works a treat! :-)

Hi Adam,
I've found the problem. I'll fix it. In the mean time please import QSO withou QTH profile selection and use Group edit after import.

The old 2.3.0 version uses expired eQSL web address (changed by eQSL organization abt 1 year ago)

CQRLOG doesn't have any function to import values like you posted. But if you send me you file I believe I'll import it into mysql database and then to cqrlog database. After that I'll export it as adif file.

Just tried to import my ADI file from the ARRL DX Phone contest. No error file, no import. Looks like VK4IM's earlier problem. Version 2.5.1, 001. Using Debian Linux. Thanks!

Hi Mike!
It is a bit old thread this one. Ten years!
So I had to look carefully message dates to see what is new and what is old.
It can not be same problem as 10 years has passed and cqrlog has got some versions meanwhile.
First thing to check is that your preferences/bands/frequencies table has frequencies you have in adif file. I guess they should be mostly ok as HF contests use frequencies that are in use in all regions.
Cqrlog will not accept out of band imports, it sometimes happens mainly in V/UHF where region frequency limits are different and cqrlog defaults to region1.
Then your version is not latest. I tried quick check from https://github.com/ok2cqr/cqrlog/commits/master to see was there any adif fixes since 2.5.1 but did not find any.
Can you send your log as attachment to me? You will find my address from qrz or HamQth.

Hello,
I was about to create a new thread when I saw this thread. It appears I'm having the exact same issue. I recently moved from Ubuntu to Debian Bullseye when I rebuilt my PC. In the process I exported my CQRLOG file to ADIF. Upon reinstalling CQRLOG in Debian, I attempted to import ADIF from the QSO window. I immediately get the 'Done' message with nothing imported when I refresh the database. My bands selected in CQRLOG match what should be in the log - all HF bands.
I am running Debian Bullseye and the repository has the 2.5.1 version. When I tried to manually install the latest 2.5.2 version from the .deb file on this site, I hit dependency issues. The only dependency I couldn't resolve was libmariadb-dev which doesn't appear to be available for Bullseye. I was running CQRLOG 2.4.0 before I switched to Debian.

I managed to load up .config/cqrlog/database from my old hard drive and copy over the directory into my new install. Everything is back. Note to self and others: Make a backup of the /cqrlog/database directory IN ADDITION to backing up as an exported .ADI file!

The header of adif file looks normal. It does not show ok at forum, but in email received from every message the arrows show up properly.
The problem must then be in qso records.
one qso record starts from <QSO_DATE and ends to <EOR> between them there should be all information from qso.
It is a text file. You can cut it so that there is only header and one (or more) qso record(s).
Copying database dir, actually copying whole ~/.config/cqrlog is a simple way to move cqrlog from PC to another, or if you make another PC user copy it to that user's home folder.
It works if database engines in source and destination machines are similar. If you jump form mysql to MariaDB it does not work so easy and then the adif export/import is easiest way to move qos.
Fine that you got it working. You can still try adif import if you like by making a new empty log in database connection window and making the import to that log. You can also make tests shorter by cutting the adif file so that it has just few qso records and the header part.

I do regular backups. Once a week I consolidate various logs, bring CQRlog up to date, edit this and that, upload to LotW and eQSL, then I back up everything and push it up to Dropbox.
For a while I just zipped up the database in .config/cqrlog/database. Then I learned in a another thread here -- I don't remember where -- that in order to truly save everything you should just zip up the whole directory .config/cqrlog. The resulting zip file is only a tiny bit larger and you've got absolutely everything.
