When WSJT-X (program) is closed UDP connection between Cqrlog and WSJT-X does drop.
If wsjt remote would stay on and you would restart WSJT-X program it would not send any information to Cqrlog. Closing wsjtx remote and activate it again would rebuild the connection.

That is why wsjtx remote closes when WSJT-X program closes. WSJT-X sends "Close" UDP messge to Cqrlog and Cqrlog closes the remote then.

So it would be no use to keep wsjt remote running after WSJT-X is closed because reconnection happens only when wsjt remote is initiated again.
