Windows position (Alpha_141)

Hello everyone,

Since version Alpha_135 (or earlier), when CQRLog is opened, the windows no longer retain the layout (position and size) they had during the previous session.
Could you please fix this bug?

Thanks,

ON6GMT, Ubuntu 24.04.3

Hi!

Yes they do! Up to 142 (devel) that is not released yet.

Most common reason is that window position/size data is corrupted in log. Have you tried to create new empty log without copying settings from any existing logs?
Make a log, open windows you use and position/size them. Close them without closing Cqrlog and open them again. If they return to places you set at first open then close Cqrlog and open it again and see that windows still have their size and position.
If it works it means your daily used log has corrupted init file.

Another reason is Wayland. If your Linux uses Wayland for graphics instead of X11/Xorg it may cause problems when using Cqrlog GTK2 versions.
Test for this can be done if you log out (not close linux) and then in linux logging screen can select between graphic systems select X11 and log in,
start Cqrlog and see how it works.
Another solution might be the usage of Cqrlog QT5 or QT6 versions. Those need libqt5pas or libqt6pas packages installed via packet manager of linux system.
Package names may slightly differ depending on linux version.
