Logging JS8CALL QSOs to CQRLOG

While it is always possible to import JS8 adif files manually into CQRLOG, I am trying to do it directly as is done with WSJTX.
It looks as if it may be possible to use the N1MM remote logging interface for this, by setting the UDP local host and port in JS8.
While this picks up the call sign and the signal reports, it does not find the frequency and so refuses to complete the logging process automatically.
Is there a solution, or an alternative way to log JS8 automatically into CQRLOG ?

Logging JS8CALL QSOs to CQRLOG

Hi Robin!

The N1MM remote should work with JS8.
It is so long time that maybe JS8 new versions have something changed. it is tested with V0.14.0devel here at last time.

Found version 2.2.0devel and loaded it for test.

N1MM remote seems to work same way as before.
You have to set JS8/settings/reporting/UDP to have same values as cqrlog/proferences/fldigi/wsjtx interface/N1MM (See picture).
Then set N1MM remote active. When you push OK at JS8CALL logging window information is transfers qso data.
To see that logging happens you have to set "refresh data after save QSO" adn keep cqrlog/QSOlist open.

How ever with this version it does not send right frequency when it logs qso. (see picture) It may be some wrong setting because I have not used this program never and just loaded it from rpm.

Otherwise it is a bug because logging is not following the frequency display from rig.

When logging qso you can set additional field "FREQ" and enter frequency in MHz. When done so it will send that frequency to cqrlog wit N1MM remote.

JS8 logging

Thanks again Saku for checking this out for me.
I had all settings correct, but had not realised that you had to enter the frequency separately (manually) during the JS8 logging process.
Doing that, it now works perfectly.

JS8 logging

Hi Robin!

I wonder why that must be done.
It seems like predefined frequency is logged, so if you stay on those all is ok. But if you use vfo and move to another frequency you must type that in. It feels very stupid as the display shows used frequency all the time.

It would be nice to see the manual, but at least the version installed from Fedora package did not have any real help found from help menu.

JS8CALL manual

Hi Saku!
Maybe there is an optional setting in JS8 that I haven't found yet, or maybe I am not using the software right..
Interesting that PSKReporter shows the actual frequency (dial plus audio offset) of a reported JS8 transmission.
There is a manual, but not easy to find.....
