FT-897D Troubles

I just upgraded to the 1.4.0. I am running Fedora 16 64 on an AMD machine, using ttyUSB0. I was never able to get rig control to work, however, with the new version, it will display the frequency and band when it polls the radio, but won't hold the info, it goes back to 0.000. So it will flash the correct frequency and band every time it polls, but then returns to all zeros. Rig control works when using FLDIGI by itself, with GRIG, even HRD running under virtualbox and the other operating system. Anyone else having these issues?

HELP! CQRLog not working in Kubuntu 12.04

Hello all. I'm a brand new member to the group and hope I can get some help. I've been using CQRLog on Kubuntu 11.10 with no problem and had to do a fresh install to Kubuntu 12.04. I installed the latest version of CQRLog and now it won't load. It gets to the little "Starting CQRLog" splash screen, which is all grayed out, and hangs. I've made sure I have libstdc++5, libssl-dev and libhamlib2 installed. I have to close that window manually (twice) and when I do, I get the message,

Rig not communicating with cqrlog

My K3 will talk to the computer and cqrlog. I click on a dx spot and the rig will change to that frequency. BUT when I turn off the K3 and come back a few hours later I have to reboot the computer for it to talk to the K3 again. I have tried just closing the cqrlog and opening back up, turning the K3 off and on and it will not talk to the computer. I have to reboot the computer.

Has anyone ran into this problem and what is the fix?

thanks
