Can anyone tell me where the logbook tables are actually stored on a Linux install. I've looked in the MySQL database but I cant see any logbook tables there?

Hi Dave,
if you are using CQRLOG with mysqld on your machine, you will found all files in ~/.config/cqrlog. Symbol ~ is your home directory e.g. /home/g8fxm so full path will be /home/g8fxm/.config/cqrlog. If you want to show hidden files in Nautilus use CTRL+H hotkey.

Yes, there is.
When you run CQRLOG, connection window will appear. Uncheck option Store data to local machine and you can enter server, username and password. After first connection CQRLOG will create databases etc. Now you can have your log on other machine.
I suppose, you want to move also your log data :-). It is also very easy, just use ADIF export and import your data to new log on the server. But don't forget to check all fields in Preferences -> Export, first.
The truth is, I have my log data on our small home server from old notebook. This "server" has MySQL, Samba, Apache installed. I was afraid If I have my log data on local machine, I'll delete it always when testing new CQRLOG build.
Sometimes (twice or more per week) I log onto "server", make backup and export for my online log search - http://ok2cqr.com/hamradio/log_search.php.

I use DropBox for sharing files between machines, it would be very convenient if there was a way to place the database in ~/DropBox/SomeFolder instead of the default local placement. Possibly there is and I just know too little about MySQL, to figure out how.

You can use symlik for this. Just move whole cqrlog directory into dropbox filter and create symlink to ~/.config/cqrlog. But I'm not sure if it will work.

Unfortunately it wont for some reason, I'll send you a separate mail with screenshots. Ideally there would be an option (in CQRlog?) to direct the DB placement (in this case I would then select ~/Dropbox/cqrlog)
