After installing Ubuntu 22.04 on my PC, I installed CQRLOG using the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ok2cqr/ppa;sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get install cqrlog
When I run cqrlog I get the error: Mysql could not be started
Below is the mysql.err file

As indicated in a topic I deleted the /home/daniel/.config/cqrlog file but that did not change the result.
Thanks for giving me a solution,
Cordially
Hi!
You have the common problem with Ubuntu. You need to replace mysqld 8.0.31-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 with MariaDB.
Look for MariaDB packages (server/client) for Ubuntu. Installing them properly should remove mysqld 8.0.31

Hello,
I am not an Ubuntu virtuoso.
Is the installation of mariaDB client/server from Synaptic sufficient if not how to do?
Cordially
Hi
Synaptic should do it ok.

I am having the same issue. I did install the MariaDB as suggested above and this did not fix the issue.
below is the output of my err log.

Hi Ricky!
From your error log can be seen that MariaDB is not in use. Installing it (Server and client ) should remove Mysql 8.0 and that name should not appear to error log.
Please check your installation of MariaDB again.

What I ended up having to do because my issue happened even after installing mariadb is this, in exact order. uninstalled cqrlog, mariadb, reboot computer, reinstall cqrlog and it will install mysql by default (do not start cqrlog), immediately install maria using this command in a terminal window $ sudo apt install mariadb-server-core-10.6 mariadb-server-10.6 . this the only way to get it to work in my case.

Yep.
Just like this.
A bug report has been made to Ubuntu to fix cqrlog package having Mariadb as default. But it will take time before they fix that.
It should not need anything else than the sudo apt install mariadb-server-core-10.6 mariadb-server-10.6 .
No removing, and not rebooting as it is not windoze.
Main thing is that you got it working!

I uninstalled MYSQL then installed MARIADB
I launched CQRLOG with the debug option: below is the result
daniel@HP:~$ cqrlog --debug

Can you help me to make CQRLOG operational?
73 QRO
Delete file ~/.config/cqrlog/MASTER.SCP . When Cqrlog loads latest dxcc information after installation it gets bigger MASTER.SCP file than it can handle.
Removing file helps for crashing but disables Super Check Partial property.
This is fixed in latest Cqrlog source but it does not appear in any package yet.

Thank you for the answer .
I deleted the .config/cqrlog/MASTER.SCP file
I restarted cqrlog with the debug option and here is the result:
