Exclude Low Band Spots During Local Daytime

A feature I found very convenient on another logger (which shall not be named) is the ability to exclude DX Cluster spots on the low bands (160, 80, 40 m) during the users's local daytime. These spots would generally not be workable as DX during that time and instead simply clutter up the DXCluster window unnecessarily.

To implement this feature one could (a) in the DXCluster Preferences select the bands (if any) to apply this test and have CQRlog calculate the daytime hours automatically or (b) add a user configurable time range to exclude spots on a band-by-band basis in the DXCluster Preferences.

This is a convenience feature that would clean up unnecessary clutter from the DXCluster window. I guess alternatively someone could just de-select these bands during the daytime. But an automatic feature is what we have computers for!

HI Wayne!

Not a bad idea.

Perhaps it would be better (& easier to program) to let user choose UTC time limits for low bands deny. That is because there are areas up in north where low bands are open all day long during winter time.

Quick fix is to do some adjustments at DXCluster side and prevent spots where sender is outside of own area. When there are no low band conditions from your area, then there are no spotters either.

Saku,

I think user specification of UTC time limits (if any) is a good solution. I would welcome this enhancement to CQRlog in the future.

In the mean time, I recently "upgraded" to version Alpha 134 and am very happy with it. All is running fine on my Mint 21.3 machine. My thanks to you and all the authors for a very fine application.
