I am a new user of CQRLOG. I come from a WinXP background, and formerly used N3FJP's ACLog. I made the decision a a couple of months ago to move to Linux for my shack PC. I discovered however that while his program ran well under Wine, I could not get the LOTW up/downloads to work properly- that was my main impetus for finding a native Linux logging app.
Anyway, it has been a struggle, and I am definately out of my comfort zone. First, Peter and all, GREAT program, but the learning curve has been steep. That being said, i have been having a couple of issues that I hope someone can help with. I hope that these are just "I don't know what I am fully doing yet" type errors...:-)
For information, I am using CQRLOG with fldigi on an Ubuntu 9.04.
The first has to do with times. I know where the UTC offset is under preferences, and it is set correctly. My system clock is set correctly. However, the time in CQRLOG is not correct. As an example, right now correct time is 10:20 CDT/22:20 hrs./03:20 UTC. However, when I open CQRLOG, time is shown as 17:20.
Also, when I am using fldigi, after completing a QSO, instead of bringing over the start AND end times for the QSO, CQRLOG makes the start/end times the same (as the start time). I have to manually edit the QSO info to correct it.
When I am using fldigi in remote mode, do I have to go into CQRLOG after a QSO and save the entry, or does it save as I go to another one?
When I see an entry come into CQRLOG, I see the QRZ and QSL info that the program has pulled in. However, it seems that this info is not 'staying' saved...if I go back later, those fields are empty.
Again, I am really wanting to learn how to use this program well, and am trying to read the docs when I can...oh, another question. Is there an 'offline' version (ie, PDF format) version of the documentation that I can print out and read? It is hard for me to have to read the docs while online.

Maybe this could cause wrong time zone settings. Hardware clock should be in UTC and you have to have set right time zone. Please check it.

When you save QSO in fldigi and CQRLOG is in remote mode, it saves the QSO itself directly to database. If you open QSO list window (CTRL+O) or enable showing QSO in New QSO windows in preferences, you should see it.

Yes, they are empty because CQRLOG saves QSO, clear all fields and waits for another QSO from fldigi.

There isn't pdf manual, but you can print our help. Help is at http://www.cqrlog.com/help/index.html or it is also part of the program.
