I tried this:
Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) users can use CQRLOG’s repository on Launchpad. To add repository to your system, put into terminal this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ok2cqr/ppasudo apt-get update
but I don't see anything useful on my ubuntu box, there were a coupl failures first time through but I can't seem to recall what I learned before I had to return my asus 1015E-ds03 for service which needed a factory reset, hence repositorry info gone, dependencies gone, memory gone. I do have a copy of my log in adif from cqrlog but not the progam itself! Can anyone tell me what I missed? running ubuntu 12.04 LTS
writing this on my imac
thanks

There is no need to compile cqrlog from source code.
if you already put those two commands to command line, you can find cqrlog in ubuntu app store or you can install it in console with sudo apt-get install cqrlog

Petr, I got CQRLOG from Ubuntu Software Center v 1.6.1
which 2 commands should be added tto the command line and in what format?
What I hve in the cqrlog folder is 9 folders and 2 files
the folders are ctyfiles, help, images, members, src, tools, voice keyer, xplanet, zipcodes
the files are make fille, and readme.mb:
What is CQRLOG?---------------CQRLOG is an advanced ham radio logger based on MySQL database. Provides radio control based on hamlib libraries (currently support of 140+ radio types and models), DX cluster connection, online callbook, a grayliner, internal QSL manager database support and a most accurate country resolution algorithm based on country tables developed by OK1RR. CQRLOG is intended for daily general logging of HF, CW & SSB contacts and strongly focused on easy operation and maintenance. More at http://cqrlog.com/How to contribute?-------------------You have to have Lazarus 0.9.30.2-2, fpc 2.4.4 compiler, MySQL server and clinet installed. Both shipped with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Compile with make and install with make DESTDIR=/home/yourusername/where_you_want_to_have_it install. If you are going to change the source code, fork the repo, do the changes, commit them and use Pull request.Dependencies-------------libmysql-dev, libhamlib-dev
do I need to add SQLServer and SQLClient to command? like
CQRLOG SQLServer SQLClient??
I dont't recall that last time and it worked wonderfol as an update! Until I accidentlly wiped my drive before moving my backups to a USB drive.
tnx scott/wa1ytw
Scott,
do you have installed CQRLOG from Ubuntu software center? I'm sorry, I don't see the point.
It seems you have source code downloaded. It's useless for you, you need the program, not source code.
You can install CQRLOG from command line and from Ubuntu software center. Both ways should work without any problem.

Trying the Forum first. I installed CQRLOG from both the Software Manager and command line with apt-get install cqrlog. My results have been the same. When I launch the app from either the Menu Icon or from command line all I get is "gray box". The task bar says, "Starting CQRLOG" yet nothing appears to be happening. I've confirmed MySQL is installed but don't know if he CQRLOG database was created. Also there is not cqrlog directory under ~/.config/. Have I done something wrong? is there a means of turning on verbose logging?
Cheers.
Did you add also my ppa to software sources? Maybe the CQRLOG version from Mint repository is broken.

uninstall CQRlog from Symatics package manager, then come here to this site on the left side dowload the version you want, then go to your dowload folder, and right click, then install with Gdeb package installer, and enjoy, 73 de Tom K8WDX
