I have an old Dell desktop 32 bit machine up and running good with my TS590SG.
I Bought a new 64 bit machine that runs on 12 volts for my Mobile/Portable station. Installed Ubuntu16.04lts 64 bit. Ran "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ok2cqr/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install cqrlog" The "about" says its Ver. 2.0.2 (001) 2016-08-
Went into the TRX CONTROL setup, No listing for 237 Kenwood TS-590SG in the radio list. Path to the rigctld binary is /usr/bin/rigctld
Ran this:
dpkg -l | grep hamlib
ii libhamlib-utils 1.2.15.3-3.1build1 amd64 Utilities to support the hamlib radio control library
ii libhamlib2 1.2.15.3-3.1build1 amd64 Run-time library to control radio transceivers and receivers
I don't know where to go from here. Can someone point me in the right direction and give me a good push?
Aloha, Jim NH6HI
Hi Jim,
please try to run rigctl -l in a terminal window. CQRLOG shows list of rigs supported by installed version of hamlib. It seems hamlib 1.2.15 doesn't support TS-590SG but it works fine with TS-590 rig id 231.

Big Mahalo Petr,
I had tried that earlier but at 1am I missed the little tick box "run rigctld at startup" because I was so focused on finding 237 Kenwood. zzzzz! Looks like we're on the way. Now to import the log from the old dinosaur dell. Mahalo for the quick reply
