Is there a way to change the mode the New QSO window defaults to when one double clicks on a spot in DXCluster? For example, I double click on a spot in DXCluster that's 14.074, which would "normally" be FT8, but the New QSO window defaults to RTTY when Auto is checked. So, is there a way to define what range of frequencies are "normally" used for a given mode?

HI!
There is no way setting frequency limits other than CW,SSB and RTTY via preferences/bands/frequencies.

All wsjt-x modes will be set ok to cqrlog when wsjt-x remote is used and logging is done in wsjt-x's log window, not using cqrlog's save button. No matter what the New qso window show during qso, final logging will change right mode.

With Wsjt-x it is wrong way to put qso in log by pressing cqrlog's "save qso" button. Instead logging should be done using wsjt-x own log window's OK button.

That will send UDP remote logging command with all datas to cqrlog. Other benefit is that wsjt-x does its own logging at same time so you will get backup log too with just one click.

Hi Saku and Martin,

Thanks for the replies. The frequency limits is what I was looking for. It would be nice if a future feature added more modes.

I haven't messed with or quite figured out how to or the correct way to make CQRLOG, WSJT-X and rig control work together. At the moment I use CQRLOG to control the rig, a Ten-Tec Omni VI. Normally my QSO rate is low enough that I can log manually using the new QSO window. I seem to recall reading something about remote mode has to be used to make CQRLOG and WSJT-X work together. I just haven't spent the time to see if I can get it to work.

Hi Stan!

OMG, do you really log FT8 qsos manually?!

It means that you need to set wsjt-x frequencies manually when you change band from rig. Otherwise your wsjt-x may send (if enabled) wrong band information to pskreporter about stations you have heard.

Look at this message https://cqrlog.com/node/2023 you will find a link to my Google drive with some cqrlog and wsjtx related stuff.

Read the document "setting_rigctld_fot_all_programs.pdf" tellng how to set up things.

If your cqrlog is now working (displaying rig frequency right) and you do not want to to all the things said in document you can just put settings to wsjt-x (settings/radio) similar way as in picture (and fldigi, too. If used)

After settings are changed you get immediately frequencies to wsjt-x. But only if your cqrlog is running before starting wsjt-x.
To get also remote mode working you have to check all 3 checkboxes in "UDP server" part from wsjt-x/settings/reporting. Numbers should be ok as default.
Then just pressing ctrl+J at NewQso window enables and disables wsjt-x remote mode.

There is also a video "rigctld_usage.mp4" that tells about same things, but it has little differences according to pdf. The video is bit older information, all works in that way too.

Look also "wsjtx_remote_features.mp4" to get vision what all the remote mode can offer with latest beta release.
You do not want to make manual FT8 logging any more ... :-)

Hi Saku,

Yes, I log them manually :) After WAS, DXCC and 558 credits toward Challenge; it's getting harder to work new ones. Especially so with propagation the way it's been lately. So, my QSO rate isn't all that high normally.

Thanks for the link to the Google drive files. I'll take a look at the setting rigctld for all programs file. Yes, I use fldigi too.
