Hi all:
I read that the best way to support multiple calls, such as for an event call sign, was to install multiple instances of CQRLOG. I am having a problem installing the second instance. I am running the installation specifying a new destination directory. When I do this I receive an error:
"Creating target directory..."
"Error while creating target directory!"
I have tried running the installer both normally and under sudo. Same problem. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 and CQRLOG 9.6. Is there a special procedure for installing additional instances of CQRLOG?
The original version was installed with the defaults:
Destination: /home/brian/cqrlog/
Desktop: /home/brian/Desktop/
I am trying to install the second instance using the 'new full install' option with the following directories:
Destination: /home/brian/k3y7/cqrlog/
Desktop: /home/brian/Desktop/
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian K7TKT
Hi Brian,
probably installer has a problem to create directories k3y7/cqrlog. Try to create it by hand and install program again. Please let me know if it works. Thank you.

Hi Petr:
That worked, thank you.

is it possible to switch users ( callsigns /db) when in use? or is a second install the only or best option?
in case of dual install, how about dx cluster and rig cntrol? do they have to run twice too?
Hi
How about of creating 2 separate logs. Preferences go with the log, so swtching the log (new qso/file/open or create new log) the call will be changed and also log has different database.. The base settings of log can be exported and then imported to another log. That way you get all settings similar, then just change call to this other log.

i created 2 seperate logs on start.
we do work on same station with 2 licensed hams.
not shure if it would work good when switching on frequent base?( lots of times during an hour)
if possible this also is an option
Hi
Swtching does not do any harm. Just a delay when db is changed and rigctld is reloaded.
Other posiibilities are to create another linux user. Then there will be another ~/.config/cqrlog folder with everything. Then just switxh linux users.
Or, if you do not work lot of digital qsos solution could be cqrweblog. Put that in google to see what kind of web based user interface it is.
