Transmit hangs in WSJTX remote longer than it should

Setup: Ten Tec Omni 7 serial cable from computer to radio. Running hamlib rig ctrl d followed the setup in Saku's video and it is working great. EXCEPT in the transmit period when the radio stops sending about 2 seconds before the end of the period the radio stays keyed. It stays keyed 3 seconds into the receive period and then releases. It still is able to decode the other station as the data does not start coming through until about that point in the next period anyway. It just seems odd the radio is hanging in transmit that long.
I checked setting in the radio to make sure vox is off and no delays are set. I also checked all the setting in CQRlog as well as WSJTX and do not see anything that would cause the hangup. I had it also set up on my Ten Tec Orion and did not have the issue.
Any suggestions?
Love the program 5 stars thank you!!!

Transmit hangs in WSJTX remote longer than it should

HI Jon!

I remember I have seen some TX hang problems in wsjtx developer mailing list.
If you transmit on period, how ever short time, you do not get decode from that period.

Set your rig polling around 1500 or bigger in preferences/TRXControl and around 3-5sec in wsjtx.
if you have very high serial speed between PC and rig you may try to drop the speed a bit. I use 19200bit/s and it is far enough fast when poll rates are decent.
Check that you do not have RF problems in your Hamshack. Put some ferrites to cables between rig and PC.

rig control hangs longer than it should wsjtx remote

Saku,
Thank you for reply. I adjusted settings the only one I can't get to take is the 19200. I have to use 57600 or no connection.
I have tested further and what is happening is I am using the serial cable for VFO control. It of course can key the radio. I also am attached to the rear AUX jack for line in line out as well as PTT there. That is connected via a Ten Tec 712 soundcard USB to the computer. I think this PTT is what is hanging not the serial. When I manually test the Cat that is fine and then test the PTT it connects and disconnects instantly. When the rig is hanging if I unplug the USB it drops instantly. I am not seeing anywhere that I am selecting USB for the PTT function I have devttyS0 everywhere.
All in all it is working fine, I just made my first Africa FT8 contact etc. The hang is annoying but does not seem to prevent any contacts.

rig control hangs longer than it should wsjtx remote

HI Jon!
You said you have followed my instructions to set up hamlib. Fine.
Question is do you have PTT on different serial port than rig cat, or do you use same port as rig CAT ?
I do not know how Ten Tec shows out as USB device. There is a soundcard at USB but is there one serial port as CAT, or two serial ports as CAT and different for PTT ?

If you have one port as rig CAT and rig supports PTT via CAT you have to use wsjtx "PTT method" as "Cat".

If there is different serial port for PTT then you need parameters:
(rigctld started from comand line) -p /dev/rig -P RTS --set-conf=serial_handshake=None,dtr_state=Unset

(rigctld started from cqrlog TRXcontrol)
"Extra command line arguments": -p /dev/rig -P RTS
"Radio one serial parameters" Handshake, RTS, DTR all three as "Unset"

Change /dev/rig to your serial port name and -P RTS to -P DTR if different line is used for PTT than in my example parameters.

After these settings, when PTT is at different serial than CAT, you can again use wsjtx "PTT method" as CAT
