I am running CQRLog 1.8.1 on Linux Mint 17 - Qiana. Every time that there is a package update, or any time I install a new application package, CQRLog and mariadb are removed from my system. I have to re-install CQRLog following this. The removal does not actually affect the mariadb database, and the associated "logs" created in the database. Also, it seems that the CQRLog program is actually still in place (as I suspect mariadb is also intact) - just that the linkages are broken. Also, the install info for each package indicates that CQRLog and mariadb "will be removed" upon installation, when I examine any new application package.
Has anyone else experience this "bug"? Are there some solutions to it?
Thanks,

CQRLog Deleted on any package update or install
I'm not sure from where Mint 17 uses DEB packages but the same problem was in Debian. MariaDB had serious bug and should be removed from repository. That caused the problem you have. You can try to install MySQL instead of MariaDB. Or maybe it will be solved by MariaDB maintainer.

Thank you Petr. I tried your suggestion, and that seemed to have solved the problem. I did not lose any of the logs I had in place. The only problem I encountered was there was a "flag" that had to be manualy removed (as root user) from mysql that indicated a Debian version 5.6, in order for mysql to install properly.
If I encounter any additional problems, I will come back to this discussion and post them. Otherwise, I believe that the problem is solved.
