USB port number??

Hi all,

I have difficulty to connect my IC7610, and eventually my Winkeyer to CQR.

I'm with Debian10.

Ports listing gives:

T: Bus=01 Lev=04 Prnt=11 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 12 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=10c4 ProdID=ea60 Rev= 1.00
S: Manufacturer=Silicon Labs
S: Product=CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller
S: SerialNumber=IC-7610 13002399 A

T: Bus=01 Lev=04 Prnt=11 Port=02 Cnt=02 Dev#= 13 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=10c4 ProdID=ea60 Rev= 1.00
S: Manufacturer=Silicon Labs
S: Product=CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller
S: SerialNumber=IC-7610 13002399 B

So I know that my IC7610 is connected, but what is the name of the port (/dev/tty???)
Thanks for help

USB port number??

Hello Gerard,

try to identify unique port numbers.
/dev/ttyUSBxx might change every reboot.

Try to use "/dev/serial/by-id/"

Hint:
ls -la /dev/serial/by-id/*

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 5 06:37 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_K3S_SN10000_-_FT232R_USB_UART_AXXXXXX-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 5 06:37 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102N_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_IC-9700_10000000_A-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 5 06:37 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102N_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_IC-9700_10000000_B-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB4
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 5 06:37 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_IC-7100_00000000_A-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 5 06:37 /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_IC-7100_00000000_B-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB2

And you should use this device, replace with the 7610 one:
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_K3S_SN10000_-_FT232R_USB_UART_AXXXXXX-if00-port0

Have fun.

Hallo Martin,

Hallo Martin,

Danke für Hinweiss, jetzt funktionniert!!

But another problem (in English so that everybody understands!)
IC7610 is working fine now, but I still cannot connect my Winkeyer.

USB port is /ttyUSB3 (I can see it when I plug/unplug the Winkeyer) but no control with CQR...
Configuration is rather straightforward (only port number) so I'm puzzled.
Any hep somebody??

Thanks.

Hi Gerard!

Have you written full path of keyer port? I.E /dev/ttyUSB3
/ttyUSB3 alone does not work.

Hi all,

Hi all,

Thanks for help, now everything is working.
@ OK1KH: yes path was OK... I did restart CQR and everything went well.
@ DL1MTG I had some trouble with Icom CIV address, but I found my way in the RIGCTLD help. You had to write address 0x000 and not 000H !

Have fun.
Gerard

Hi Gerard!

Note that there is no need to restart cqrlog.
You will find "NewQSO/File/Reload CW interface" that does the job as well as "NewQSO/File/Refresh TRX/ROT control" does restart rigctrld/rotctld.
With TRX/ROT control it also does the same job if you change from radio1 (rotor1) to radio2(rotor2) and then back. Even if there is no second device. It will do the same restart and is faster and easier if TRX(or rotor) control window is already open and visible.
