FT-897D

My 897 seems to talk one way with CQRLog.
The software can read from the radio, but it can't do things like change frequency and mode.
If I open TRX control and click on a band the radio doesn't change frequency and CQRLOG stops reading from the radio. When I close TRX control and select Refresh TRX control from the file menu CQRLOG starts reading from the radio again.

Any ideas?

I forgot to mention, I am using Lubuntu. I also use ROS in Windows, which works, also HRD works. I just set up FLDIGI in Lubuintu and it's working fine there as well.

I have the same problem with my 897D. All other programs work fine. Grig, FLDIGI, etc. When I run CQRLog, and open the rig control, it just reads all zeros, and won't control the rig. I posted an older topic about it and never was able to resolve the problem. I am running Fedora 16 AMD 64bit.

I am also trying to get CQRLOG and my FT-897D talk to eachother but have no luck in any direction.
I do not get the frequebcy for example.

Are there any settings on eiher side, such as birates or flow control that I should be aware of? I am running 32bit Ubuntu 11.10 on a Lenovo-x220 and cqrlog 1.2.2 hooked up to the repository on launchpad.

Re: FT-897D

What interface are you using. the Yaesu one or a third party one? The baud rate needs to match, of course, the Hamlib backend defaults to 38400 bps, 8 data bits, No parity, and 2 Stop bits. Only the bit rate is configurable at the radio so make sure the rate in CQRlog matches. Also, Hamlib is not enabling any flow control by default so it will depend on your interface what needs to be set. For example, I found on my FT-817 with a G4ZLP serial interface that I needed to set DTR to always on in Fldigi to get stable results.
