What rig?? and yes I do there are a couple of hoops to jump through but nothing real hard.. oh yea! and what is the problem you are having? details my friend details.. Serial port or USB hub, things like that.. HTH Tom K8WDX
Did you make yourself part of the dialout group?? Try the search window at the right top of the web page, like rig control for ubuntu 12.04. see if you come up with anything. other that that please let us know so we can help.. Tom K8WDX

Thomas, thanks for reply! I love this logging prorgram. However, on upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04 rig control quit working. I am running the Yaesu FT5k. It use to work with rig ID = 129. I see the now have an Alpha 132. Neither seem to work. I am part of the dialout group. Not sure if i was so i added myself from command line... Maybe i need a reboot...
Anyway, slipping out to the commmand line I get the following:
blair@ham:~$ rigctl -m 129 -r /dev/ttyUSB0
rig_open: error = IO error
blair@ham:~$
Ideas...
That was it!!! The reboot cured it... I had to be part of the dialout group. Awesome... Good bye HRD!
