HELP WITH RIG CONTROL

THIS IS MY SECOND POST BEGGING FOR HELP ON THE RIG CONTROL FUNCTION OF CQRLOG.  DOES THIS WORK ON THE TEN TEC OMNI VII?
I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THIS RIG WITH A XMLOG WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.  IT HAS NEVER WORKED WITH CQRLOG AND THE HAMLIB INSTALLED.  THE HELP SCREEN I FOUND DOES NOT MATCH THE LAYOUT OF THE RX/TX PREFERENCE SCREEN.  WHAT IS THE DEVICE SETTING MEAN? IS THE DEFAULT CORRECT?

Re: HELP WITH RIG CONTROL

Hello Benny,

please post here your rig control settins. If you run cqrlog from console, it will write down all the settings and also what is happening.

SETTINGS FROM CQRLOG YOU WANTED.

HI PETR

I FINALLY GOT CQRLOG TO RUN FROM THE TERMINAL.  I HAD RIGCTL RUNNING FROM THE CONSOLE AND COULD TOGGLE "f" AND GET MY 80M FREQ RETURNED.. AFTER STARTING CQRLOG,  I AM PASTING IN THE RESULTS BELOW.  THE RESULTS ARE UP TO THE TIME I SELECT THE LOG AND PRESS ENTER.

SELECT log_nr,log_name FROM cqrlog_common.log_list order by log_nr

AFTER SELECTING THE LOG AND PRESSING ENTER, THE LOG OPENS.  THEN I OPENED W0MU DXCLUSTER, GAVE A SH/FDX COMMAND AND DOUBLE CLICKED ON 10115 IN THE BAND MAP.  MY RIG STAYED ON 80M.   ALL I CAN RECOVER IS A REPEATIVE STRING WITH THE 30M FREQUENCY I SELECTED PLUS DATA ON SPOTS RECEIVED..

Re: HELP WITH RIG CONTROL - AND LINUX

Benny,

you must run terminal program when you are in graphical interface - konsole for KDE or gnome-terminal for Gnome. CQRLOG won't run in text mode.

Re: HELP WITH RIG CONTROL - AND LINUX

and if you don't have any serial port and use USB to serial converter, the port will be /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1 etc.

HELP WITH RIG CONTROL - AND LINUX

HI PETR

THANKS FOR THE TIP ON THE USB PORT SETTING.  THAT ALLOWED ME TO RUN RIGCTL IN THE CONSOLE AND CONTROL AND READ THE FREQUENCY, MODE, FILTER.
I HAVE SPEND CONSIDERABLE TIME TRYING TO RUN CQRLOG IN THE CONSOLE AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET PAST THE DISPLAY ERROR MESSAGE I MENTIONED EARLIER.  I APOLOGIZE I AM UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFO.  ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ALTERNATE METHODS TO GET THE INFO YOU NEED?
I DID UPDATE FROM VERSION 1.4.2 TO VERSION 1.5.2 AND HAVE ALL THE SETTINGS CORRECT FOR THE OMNI VII.  THE TX/RX WINDOW WORKS WITH THE BAND MAP AND LOG SCREENS NOW BUT THE RADIO JUST IGNORES ANYTHING I DO WITH THE LOG, TELNET, BAND MAP OR TX/RX SCREEN.  I AM HOPEFUL THAT NOW YOU KNOW RIGCTL WORKS FINE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SUGGEST A FIX TO MY CQRLOG INSTALLATION.

JUST TO BE CLEAR, RIGCTL READS AND CHANGES THE RADIO FREQ, MODE ETC.  CQRLOG CHANGES THE TX/RX BOX INFO BUT THE RADIO DOES NOT RESPOND.
