Wrng Ammuth & Elevation Data

When I contact a US ham who has moved from his origional location such as KB6RRX HamQTH shows the correct address and state of Georgia. The DXCC info still shows hin in California and ingicates he is 3129 km distant from me, when I know he is under 20 km away.

I am not sure why this

I am not sure why this happens if you look me up K8WDX in CQRlog it shows me in Zone 4 when I am in Zone 5, this is not the only logger that does this, I think DXlabs is the only one that gets it right.. Tom K8WDX

Oops

You were just a tad faster than me Tom...

Wrong azimuth and distance data

Hi Steve,

This is because the bearing and distance are derived from the gridsquare. Some HAM's never corrected this on HAMQTH or other pages after having moved. Just manually type in his/her correct gridsquare in the main loggingwindow and all will be well. That is, the azimuth and the distance reported in the main loggingwindow.

Better yet, ask the HAM to change his/her gridsquare on HAMQTH. After he/she has done so it will be perfect next time.

Any idea why CQRlog plasces

Any idea why CQRlog plasces me in the incorrect zone? HamQTH and QRZ are correct and I have never moved, although I am thinking about it.... Tom K8WDX

No I don't unless

No I don't Tom. Unless the greater part of your gridsquare is in zone 4. But for as far as I can see this is not the case.

Maybe Petr has a better answer. Everything looks fine on your part on HAMQTH.

Btw, it looks like you have a great location there. But sometimes there can be reasons to move..

I want to move because I want

I want to move because I want to build a garage with some lifts, I am an Auto Tech, I also want to put up a 75 foot tower, I dont feel this would be fair to my neibors. I have 2 Optibeams ready to go... but mostly for the garage and some nice work out of my qth...

Good reasons Tom

I am sure you are going to be very pleased using those OptiBeams! I have one myself (OB10-3W) and it's great.

As for the garage, I can see that too since my nephew is an Auto Tech and wants the very same..

Azimuth way off

I also just noticed this in 1.5.4. When I enter a callsign, the map shows the location correct let's say at 90 deg but the information in the New QSO window says 30. I just tried to get through to XT2TT and CQRlog shows him at 59 deg (I'm in Seattle) whereas something around 120 deg would be more correct.
In addition to that, when I enter my own call sign for example, the map shows my old QTH in Houston, TX even though the grid square shows up correct.

Re: Azimuth way off

One tiny thing Mike. Did put in the correct data in "Preferences" > Station?
If not, doing so may be of help.

Yes, that's of course the first thing I checked. What I did not check though was for the ID-10T error. So never mind, I will just curl up in a corner, feel stupid for a second and remind myself again that the world out there is 3D not 2D :).
