hamlib 3

my brain hurts... i am a linux hack at best... this is probably a silly question... but how do i update hamlib

os linux mint 18

i have downloaded the tar hamlib 3

i think this is the command to open it
tar -xvf hamlib_3.0.1.orig.tar.gz

i found what i think is the old file here
/usr/lib/hamlib

but it wont let me put the tar in there to unload.

i think i have to do it as root but not sure how...

thanks for taking the time

New to Linux

I am switching from Windows and Mac computers to Linux Mint and am now setting up CQRLog and all seems to be working but can't get the rig control to work. Is there any thing that I have left out? I am running a FTDX-3000. I have looked at the video from K8WDX and I know he had to do something to get his to work but I could not catch it. Thanks for any help or advice.

Arranging the "visible colums"

Hi,

with the left mouse button i can move a column-header in the New-QSO window to a new position.

After clicking a call sign in the Bandmap, the column moves back to the previous location. This is also the case after the restart of CQRLOG.

Is it possible to permanently fix the shifted column headers?

Access violation but deleting lotw1.txt is useless...

Hello,

I'm using CQRLOG version 1.9.0 on a RaspberryPI 3.
As often happens, after making an online update of Lotw users (I suppose), at the new startup the CQRLOG give the "Access violation error" afteter trying top open the log DB.
I know that deleting /home/your_username/.config/cqrlog/lotw1.txt usually solves the issue, but this time it doesn't.
Any other suggestion ? I'm closed out of the door....

Thank-you

To get CQRLOG to control IC-7300??

Trying to get CQRLOG to exercise rig control over my new IC-7300.

I have the IC-PAC CI-V cable connected. I have used this before with my IC-706MKIIG and had good rig control from CQRLOG to the 706.

The big difference is that I can not find what you say I should have "373 Icom-7300" in the drop down list for "Rig Model". Apparently there is no item in the drop down list for the 7300.

I have the installation set up basically the same with the following parameters in TRX Control preference screen based on your post above.

Here is what I have entered:

CQRLog/MySQL error

Hello All. I recently did a fresh install of Debian 9.10 and installed CQRLog 2.1. When I try to launch CQRLog, I get the following error messages:

"Error during connection to database: Can not load default MySQL library ("libmysqlclient.so.18" or "libmysqlclient.so"). Check your installation."

Following the instructions on the database error tab that came up, these are the last 20 lines of the mysql.err file. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Attempting to upload contacts to HRDLog.net and Clublog

I have setup the software to automatically upload my contacts to HRDLog.net as well as Clublog. In the status window I notice a message such as:

HRDLog: Deleting original K6SRZ
HRDLog: Could not delete original QSO data!
ClubLog: Deleting original WN6K
ClubLog: Could not delete original QSO data!
HRDLog: Deleting original K6SRZ
HRDLog: Could not delete original QSO data!

Then the software appears to stall and not do anything. Any idea what the problem is and how to correct it?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

New computer

I recently bought a new laptop for ham operations. I loaded Ubuntu and carlog. I saw a pervious post about getting qsos to a new computer. I tried copying the .config/cqrlog directory and put it on the new computer, but it crashed the database. Would not start. I removed the cqrlog directory and it thought it was a new install and built a new db and works fine. Is this the best way or is there a better way. I do have the old computer that I can access.
