I have installed cqrlog with the ppa repository.
That's went fine , but the layout i get is so different as when you look at the screenshots on this webpage .
A lot of fields are too big and mask some other items.
Here is my system:
Linux Lite 5.8 ( a ubuntu focal flavour)
Desktop Xfce
uname - a gives me :

Is this a known problem ? Could is be the desktop Xfce ?
Can I post somewhere a photo to clarify my problem ?

Might be display scaling.
Do you have very high resolution monitor and scaling in use?
Cqrlog can be compiled to use QT5 widgets instead of default GTK2. That may also help in some hardware setups.
Xfce itself is not the problem, I think.
You can upload photos two ways. Just look below the message writing box. Some lines below there is a button "choose file" and once it is done you can upload it with "upload" button.
If you want image inside text you should change below "Filtered HTML" to "full HTML" and after that above that selector you will see "Enable rich-text". Click that and write your message. When writing you can use paste (Ctrl+V) graphics into text from clipboard.

I think that the Gtk toolkit is probably the cause although other programs seems to be working OK
So , i will try to compile it in the QT5 environment later .
In the meanwhile i have a intermediate solution by reducing the DPI of my screen from 96DPI to 88DPI
.
