I am evaluating CWRlog on Ubuntu 9.04. I found the setup to be fairly straight forward. I have some operational questions compared to other logging programs that I am used to operating from a Windows environment.
When I click on a spot in the DX cluster window it populates the log but it does not move the rig to the new operating frequency. I am expecting that it should retune the the rig and send it to the proper location.
1. Does that functionality work within CQRlog and just broken on my system?
or
2. Does that functionality not exist within CQRlog?
Hi everybody,
I've been using easylog logger software, it works also on Linux under wine, but, looking up on the web, I recently discovered this VERY interesting software. I've just install it on a 64bit Ubuntu 9.04 without any problem and I've found the integration with fldigi a real "piece of cake" ;-)
Anyway, I would like to import a log from easylog and the only way to do that is to convert it to ADIF and then using the import tool on CRQLOG.
I just heard about CQRlog and joined this site.
My question is; is there a version for CQRLog for the Mac?
Thanks,
Every time I enter a new QSO or shutdown and restart the program any changes I have made to column width or placement is lost. I am shure it is something simple I have overlooked. Please help. Other wise I love this program.
Richard
I have CQRLOG connected to my FT1000MP via the serial port on my computer. In all the other logging programs that I've used I have had to specify the com port for the rig connection. Did I miss something in setting up CQRLOG?
Everything else works magnificently.

Hi
First let me say thanks for the great Linux Logging software!
I'm using CQRLog 0.8.5 and Hamlib version 1.2.10 (svn)
Trx control works fine as long as I enter a direct serial port in Trx Control Preferences. However I would really like to use rigctld (rig model = 2) or even rpc.rigd (rig model = 1901) for radio control.
I can use rpc.rigd with fldigi or grig etc, but not cqrlog.
For example I start the rigctl running with
$ rigctld -m 122 -r /dev/ttyS0 -s 4800
and then in another xterm I can:
$ rigctl -m 2 -r localhost get_freq
14070000
I have a need to export selected QSOs for processing in other software and for U/L to eQSL. Every time I try to export to ADIF, it exports the entire log. Is there any way to export just selected QSOs to ADIF?
Have PSK250 QSOs I can't import, any plans to support it in the future? New modes come along often enough, might make sense to have them user defined...
This is not CQRLog bug! Where else to write?
I tested CQRLog in Ubuntu 9.10 beta. There was not libstdc++5 in Synaptic list.
Howto:
- run 9.10 Beta updates.
- find libstdc++5 from http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/i386/libstdc++5/download
- install with GDebi
- run CQRLog.
Work nice! 73s de Timo OH7JHA
The trx control dos not work with my ft 450
What to do ?
Maybe a nice touch to upper case the first character entered in this field ??

Would be nice to have a preference for writing qso into bandmap.
Why ? When tuning back across the freq, hearing qso, bandmap would give an idea whether a 'dupe'.
Useful for those who do not just point and click to work stations.

Ubuntu 9.04 and CQRLOG 0.8.4 is an awesome combination! Now we have a new need, since there are two users with two different calls in the family. What would be the recommended way to have two separate logs for two different calls in one computer? Should CQRLOG be installed twice in different folders or what?

Hello,
Is it possible to sort the qsl to send list by profile. ?
And what about insert an OPERATOR field ?
it could be a good stuff for field day, QRP operation, or special event ...
The Operator could be preset with a default value : ie. F8EHJ and when working in QRP mode, We can change this field to F8EHJ/QRP.
Later, we could print labels with only F8EHJ/QRP QSOs for a special QSL.

Hello,
I think that adding SRX (contest number serial received) and STX (contest number serial sent) is useful when you work contest with a few qso.
An optional feature (for example a box tick), could increase STX number automatically.
By default, I write these informations on RST Sent and RECEIVED fields (like 599/1256)

Hello,
I Have problem when importing my adif log into CQRLOG (about 1000 QSO). I converted it for CQRLOG (with app_log_CQR field) and it is compliant with ADIF v2.
CQRLOG displays : 0 qso imported without an error log.
Is there tips ?
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
1. In the new qso window i'm not able to enter the frequency and mode used for the qso.
The frequency is blocked on 145.0000 and the mode is blocked on FM.
When i put the program in offline mode the frequency and mode can be changed.
2. When watching the qso list, the last qso is gone after scrolling in the list.
After closing the qso list window and re-opening it the last qso is back in the list, if not scrolling.
Anyone has a solution or answer for these problems?

Hi Guys:
Running the latest cqrlog on Ubuntu - all seems A-Ok however I noticed on the logging screen the date format is in MM/DD/YY and it's the same in the Qso Listings - I have checked in the set-up and preferences but there seems no way of altering it to DD/MM/YY - anyone with a clue ?
I suspect I might need to go in and edit the .config file !
Cheers Peter G4NKX:
Daily update / upgrade and starting CQRLog from the icon produces error message.
Can't load /cqrlog/lib/libfbembed.so.2.1.1
Re-installed CQRLog, same error message and it won't load / run
This on an Ubuntu+1 (Karmic) system.

I notice when I have all tabs for the CQRLog program open, when I want to edit an entry in the log file, the window gets stolen by the activity from the dx-cluster window. I have to disconnect from the cluster, then go back to the edit page, make the changes, save the information, then I can re-connect the cluster.
I haven't found a reasonable work around for this.

Ubuntu Karmic in use here.
When opening Xplanet, it opens in a small window.
Dragging the edge to increase the size left several copies of the original display of earth in the main window until one click anywhere in the window, then the earth would fill the window.
I wanted the Xplanet to be by itself, so I moved it one desktop over and make it full screen, or maximized. It worked as expected and displayed callsigns on the map where the should be.
This isn't good.
Suddenly my computer is very slow to respond to anything where before it was instant service no matter what I was doing or how many screens I had open.
I unloaded cwdaemon, that didn't help. Using htop I'm trying to figure out what is now running that is slowing things down that was not running before.
Dang, this is frustrating at times.... ..
But it is fun too.... ..
